This Cutting/Serving Board is made of Macacauba, a South American hard wood, measures 16” long x 9” W x 1”thick and totaling 6 lbs.. The density and hardness of this wood makes it the perfect cutting board. It has a blue resin filled design across the top with 1 natural edge. This board is finished on both sides, allowing you to keep the side with the design fresh for serving and for cutting on the back side. I do not recommend cutting on the resin as it will scratch. It is finished with 3 coats of a hardening, food grade oil to enhance the natural color of the wood and protect it for many years. Periodic oiling with mineral oil or any standard butcher block oil once or twice a year is recommended. For cleaning, simple soap and water, towel dry. Never place your wooden items in the microwave or dishwasher, as damage will occur.
