The first in the series I call Mystic Vessels. This one is of oak from a large tree that came down in my yard. It was first pre-turned after years of drying. Then it has gone through a stabilizing process where the air has been removed from the cells of the wood under vacuum then replaced with pink, yellow and blue resin. The color is accepted in certain areas but not in others, leaving parts of the unique, natural grain to show through. Some voids were filled with ground turquoise. The vessel was finished turned to its final very thin shape and a very hi gloss, almost mirror finish was applied. Size: 6” x 6” x 3”
